Bars and Restaurants
One of the best changes in the
last couple years is the increase in the number of small restaurants
along the main road, beach shack restaurants along the beach front
and beach massage salas in the areas around the resorts. Much
better than a few years ago when pickings were slim and not much was
on offer.
Another great bonus is that
prices tend to be moderate and less than Khao Lak or Phuket.
 A
favorite of many who come to the island is Taco Time - Thai and
quite decent Mexican food.
People who visited Khao Lak
pre-tsunami will remember this restaurant in the area in front of
the current day Khao Lak Laguna Resort.
The restaurant owner, Khun Nan,
lost six employees in the 2004 tsunami and is doing well in his new
location. He is holding a photo of the Khao Lak Restaurant in the
photo to the right.
Taco Time is located on the
main north-south road of Kho Khao Island and is probably less than
one kilometer from the ferry landing. In the same area you
will find many other restaurants and bars including Chili, Banana
Garden and Joe's Bar.
If you are not staying
near Taco Time, they will pick you up from your resort and take you
to the restaurant and they will also deliver. Great food and some
of the best Mexican food in southern Thailand.
